Your Personal Baduk Teacher
Everything you need to get stronger made simple.
Private Lessons with Zee
Structured Go lessons built around your own games, teaching games, and a clear study plan – with options for full coaching, a lite plan, or game reviews only.
- Focus on your real games, not generic examples
- Clear direction on what to study between sessions
- Three options: Full, Lite, or Game Review only
What you get as a private student
Lesson structure
Every lesson is a mix of game review, targeted teaching games, and a short review of those teaching games.
Study plan & homework
You'll get a custom study plan with text, video, and/or direct to specific joseki, openings, or concepts you need to work on.
Kyu Dan System Included
Full access to the Kyu Dan System ($18/month value) with 100+ lesson series, premium, monthly content, and a study-focused study group.
Support between sessions
For Full and Lite students, you can send positions or game screenshots and Zee will work to find a sequence or variation instead of needing to wait for the next lesson.
How a typical lesson works
1. Review your games
You send Zee a game or two you've played since the last lesson. He'll review them, checking and explaining your biggest game-changing mistakes.
2. Play a teaching game
We play a short teaching game (or might continue a game from last time). Zee will explain his moves as you go. You'll get to focus on what's in the position, not look up what AI says.
3. Analyze & assign homework
We review the teaching game together. Zee will study plan and teaching concepts for the week ahead.
Lessons are usually 1-2 hours depending on pace, questions, and how many games we review.
Choose the option that fits you
The Kyu Dan System
The Kyu Dan System is the video framework behind your coaching. It's included with all lesson plans and game reviews.
- More than 100 lessons on openings, strategic principles, proper game sense, invasions, and endgame
- Structured study paths organized for beginner and level
- A daily-updating weekly study group where members play games, watch lectures, and post self-game homework
- An active community of players focused on deep, long-term improvement
All private lesson students get full access to the Kyu Dan System at no extra cost. It's the foundation that connects to your own results.
About Zee & availability
Zee began his Go journey in Illinois less than a decade ago. When he was 16, Guo Juan once remarked and predicted his teaching career for adult students. The lessons at SimpleBaduk are rooted on that real teaching experience - what actually worked for him and his students over the years. His teaching isn't flashy, but it works if you stick with it and put in the work.
To keep quality high, Zee works with a maximum number of private students at a time.

Go Equipment Collection
Yunzi Double-Convex Go Stone Set
These classic Yunzi stones are made from a lead-free mineral blend based on the traditional Yunnan formula. Known for their solid weight, matte texture, and satisfying feel, they offer a reliable, tournament-level playing experience. Black stones reveal a subtle dark green translucence under strong light, a signature trait of traditional Yunzi.
"New Yunzi" Double-Convex Go Stone Set
The biggest upgrade from traditional Yunzi: "New Yunzi" stones are virtually free of air bubbles, giving them a flawless, smooth finish that looks clean and feels premium. Although it is "New Yunzi", it has nothing to do with Yunzi. It is a brand new kind of stone set that is made from a mixture of minerals and gems to recreate the texture of jade.

Read moreWhat is TRAP Opener?
A TRAP opener is a structured opening system designed to create difficult decisions for your opponent early in the game. It's not a trick play or cheap tactic, it sets up positions where your opponent either falls into a losing sequence or is forced to navigate a much harder game. Even if the trap doesn't trigger, you're left with a strong, stable position that follows solid principles. It's a low-risk, high-reward way to take control from move one.

Who are the instructors?
A Go learning platform built for adults. Most Go content online is too theoretical, too technical, or too vague to apply in real games. Many platforms feature strong players, but playing well is not the same as teaching well. Here's what makes Simple Baduk special.
