What you get as a private student

Lesson structure

Sessions combine review of your own games, targeted teaching games, and a short review of those teaching games.

Study plan & homework

After every lesson you leave with concrete tasks: which videos to watch, which openings or variations to review, and how many tsumego to do each day.

Kyu Dan System included

All plans include full access to the Kyu Dan System while enrolled – normally $18/month – with recordings, study paths, and a long-running study group.

Support between sessions

For Full and Lite students, you can send positions or game screenshots anytime if you want to check a sequence or variation instead of waiting for the next lesson.

How a typical lesson works

1. Review your games

Before each lesson, you send one or more recent games. We go through the critical positions live so you can explain your thinking and see where direction or move choice should change.

2. Play a teaching game

We play a short teaching game, usually focused on the opening and early middle game. Positions are chosen to highlight the concepts you need to work on and to match your style.

3. Analyse & assign homework

We review the teaching game, connect your decisions to clear ideas, and turn that into a study plan and tsumego workload for the weeks ahead.

Lessons are usually 1–2 hours depending on pace, questions, and how many games we review.

The Kyu Dan System

The Kyu Dan System is the study framework behind your coaching. It’s included with all lesson plans and game reviews.

  • • More than 100 lessons on openings, strategic principles, middle-game ideas, invasions, and related topics
  • • Structured study paths arranged by theme and level
  • • A long-running weekly study group where members play, review, watch lessons, and give each other homework

About Zee & availability

Zee began his Go journey in Mansoo Kim 8p’s adult class, where he saw how much clear structure and practical teaching matter for adult learners. The lessons at Simple Baduk are based on that real learning experience – what actually worked in his own training. Zee is now 8 dan and teaches with the same focus on clarity, structure, and practical results that helped him improve.

To keep quality high, Zee works with a limited number of private students at a time.
